Usually about this time every year, I'm stuck in Hong Kong battling the flu whilst attending one of the key trade shows of the year for my industry. I don't know what it is, but every time I go to Hong Kong or China, I get the flu. Anyway, this year, I decided not to attend. Still, I get a feel for how our market is doing as I've got a number of friends within the industry who are attending the show and keeping me updated. This kind of industrial espionage helps tremendously.
However, unfortunately, most investors haven't got this type of inside knowledge about the markets they trade in. Does it actually put us at a disadvantage? Is it only a psychological disadvantage?
