The Chicken & The Egg...

I'm going to be pulling an all-nighter as I have to check in with both 9FM and my ex-boss.  As both are Gujaratis (they sure can sing!), Saturday is a regular workday for these two gentlemen.  I'm planning to call 9FM around 3:00 am and my ex-boss at around 5:00 am, so the tea kettle will be clocking in extra hours too.  Maybe I'll have time for a Bollywood movie in between, but I'll have to get out some emails as the transiting Leo Moon trine Sun aspect will trine one of my natal planets.

I'm in a delicate situation.  I'm working on a project and as usual, people want to see the chicken and all I have is an egg.  To get the egg to hatch, I have to be doing a lot of foundation work, which is what I've been doing.  Now the egg is a few weeks from hatching, but people still don't see that.  I'm convinced this egg will hatch and eventually the potential for this new market will be bigger than my trading ego.  The risk for me is that the more I put myself out there to turn this into a hatching chick, the dumber I'll look if I don't get the requisite funding to implement this.  People are afraid I won't be able to implement, but I'm afraid they won't provide me with sponsorship funding.

Now, I've got to get people to commit with military precision.  I have perhaps 5 companies willing to commit on a contingent basis, who are very serious about it.  But I need at least 8.  Not to mention my time is limited.  I'm like an option on the brink of expiring here...  And they are my Market Makers!

In terms of trading, I'm still hoping people will buy my LEAPs.  Doesn't seem to be happening...  Even a broken clock is right twice a day!  Perhaps one of my biggest problems was getting into stocks with very little analyst coverage (i.e. very little buyers).  This is definitely something I'm adding to my screening process.

I'm At It Again: Into SPXU Dec 21 '13 $19 Calls @ $0.13...

Decline on VIX is slowing down... Potential MACD bearish divergence on SPY 10-day 15-minute charts...

It's the same signal I've been taking all year round, but there's nothing I want to be bullish on except for my industry...

This SPXU call gives me until December 21 to be right and the bulls might still come in and sell my SPXU calls, but based on the trajectory of the 3-month SPXU, an unforeseen reversal will catapult the SPXU to take out levels through to at least $19 or $20.

The FWFOCH will be in focus soon as well...

Yellen's Not Allowin' Any Sellin'

Oh, the bulls were in for it alright... in for more upside!

I pounded the pavement again yesterday, dashing from Fifth Avenue across to Broadway, then back for a series of four meetings - three of which were pretty productive.  Somehow, I ended up losing my Smythson Turqouise Collection crocodile print business card holder, which I bought at Heathrow Terminal 5 en route to Switzerland last year.  I'm pretty upset about this and have been asking around to see if anyone somehow found it.  If I can't find it, I doubt they will make one just like it again.  My favourite part was the slider mechanism to open and close the business card holder and it was even in coral.

The meeting that surprised me most was the guy who said he had five contacts for me suddenly backed out in a very Jekyll and Hyde, bet he's a Gemini kind of way (nothing against Geminis and I'm a Gemini).  I also met with one of my ex-bosses and he told me that he might potentially be interested in doing something more exclusive, but that I should check with the Big Guy In Belgium.

I'm praying that between 9FM and my ex-boss, I'll have something to be thankful for this Thanksgivin'.

Has My Moment Finally Come? The Pigs May Finally Be In For It... Most Likely Due To Dear Carl Icahn...

Followers of Dow Theory look for upticks in both the DJIA and the DJT for confirmation and it just so happens this perfect correlation is being threatened very suddenly with the DJT experiencing a steep daily drop of -1.00%.

If we're targeting 3-month lows on the SPY and things really start breaking down, SPY 165 is fair game.  My question is whether this will happen before my options expire.

What I should have done, but I didn't do today, was to get into some SPXU calls.  I was feeling so dejected yesterday that this moment was staring right back at me on the 10-day 15-minute SPY charts that I didn't see the big red candlesticks starting to overwhelm the Buy the Dippers.

The rejections are starting to come in with a few candlesticks that signal that the bulls are being smacked down with every uptick.

This might be the time I should have been upping my risk, but will ultimately end up missing the signal that turns out to be the one to be adamant about.

With 9FM traveling from Africa last week to Russia this week, I still haven't been able to jump on his treasure trunk yet.  We spoke for a minute last night, but since he had some business meetings, we will have to reconvene on Friday.  I want him and I want him bad... financially that is!

When The Diva Is Away, The Market Makers Come Out To Play...

On a day like today, where even the Bitcoin hit $750 and is up 107% in a week according to CNBC, one really, really has to wonda when it's all gonna be ovah...

Although even Dear Carl Icahn is commenting on Twitter that the market might see a very big drop, I'm done trying to catch the top.  There's no point in a diva like me expressing a point of view when one word from the Big Guys is worth more than a thousand words of mine.  When the glove don't fit, they still don't acquit.

Every time I have a put, the underlying moves in my direction one day after expiration.  Until I can figure out why this happens and how I can capitalise on it, I'm out...

Case in point: I had TSLA $125s and $100s and right after options expiry, TSLA dropped over $16 at one point today, closing off about $13.87 or -10.24%.

Why this week and not last week?  Why, Mike?  Why?

If Carl Icahn has his way, then my SPYs might finally go into the money...

Electric Bear

My portfolio has been on Death Row for some time and all I'm asking for is a fair trial!

1.88% yield on SPY vs. 2.71% on the 10-Year US Treasurys.

Are the Market Makers essentially saying that anything is better than government bonds and will I have to endure two more years of trying to sell into a market top that keeps breaking higher?

With September NYSE Margin Debt surpassing 2007 levels, it shouldn't be too long before the margin calls start hitting the street.

It's Hard To Walk & Chew Gum At the Same Time...

At least with my kind of portfolio!

I'm still waiting for my NFLX $360 calls to be in play.  Apparently, it's 13-F Season, so anything can happen.  Next time, I'm going to follow 13-Fs more closely as it could be a good time to straddle some stocks.

Next week, when 9FM gets back to Mumbai, I'm going to jump on his treasure trunk and won't leave him alone until he fills my wallet.  Not to mention my ex-boss...

ForexDiva, We'll Work With You... If You Knock Off A Zero...

Why don't they knock off a zero and I'll buy from them too?

Seriously, I was expecting a lot more from the industry event I attended yesterday.  I was only able to find about 9 new leads and a second after getting there, I pretty much knew I was barking up the wrong tree.  It was a really busy event, but essentially not the right platform for me.

If it wasn't for a meeting with a guy who has a lot of insider knowledge and his willingness to help me, I would have wasted a lot of time.  At one point, I was thinking he was a total godsend.  He told me that he can connect me with companies that already do what I want to do.  This could open up a lot of doors for me at just the right time.

Aside from this, I'm counting on my pending clients with 9FMmmmmmm to work out now more than ever.  Things are moving at the pace of a snail and right now, there are no mechanisms in place for me to know whether he's already working with the clients I sent him other than asking the clients directly, which I don't want to resort to.  Until I start seeing some commission checks, I'll hold off on sending him any more clients though.

We got some new bids on the block and someone unexpectedly stepped in and bought some PER LEAPS, so:

As the Rest of the Market Is Dancing Bollywood Style...

... I continue to get dinged in LEAPs and bounds.

Volume was pretty low today, but US indices continue to hit new all-time highs.  Charles Schwab was on with Maria saying that the retail investor is not back in full force.  The main question is how many of the stocks hitting new all time highs are one and done?  SPG hasn't hit a new high in over 3 months.  The last time it tried to break above its 200 SMA, it failed to break higher.

I've been waiting six months for people to buy my LEAPs, but failing that, I will continue to pound the pavement this week as there is an industry event featuring over 400 companies being held over the next 3 days.

My goal is to meet 100 companies over the course of the next two days and have prepared a stack of business cards for this.  One time, I met about 20 companies in an hour, so it is definitely achievable.  I will also be pitching two projects to give myself a better success rate.  The more people I talk to, the greater my chances, really.

Will I be dancing to the tune of Vacancy along with all the SENSEXy Market Makers tomorrow?

One of the Market Makers On CNBC Cited Astrology As A Factor...

Don't laugh... but I'm an astrology student - not something I like to broadcast to anyone and everyone.  If you thought today was scary, wait until the Transiting Sun Conjunct Sappho Opposite Sedna aspect going on next week!  This points to irrational fear, but with the way the markets have been going, it could just as well translate into irrational fear of being left out of the market.

The Conviction Bulls will probably still come in, buy the dips, and grab my pips.

In the Extended Hours, PCLN dropped by over $60 and then rebounded fiercely to +$34.91 per share.  Straddlers were expecting a move of about $60 either way...

Tandoor On the Trading Floor...

As the US markets continue to heat up like a tandoor oven, I've gone from gold digging to grave digging really fast.  Now that Dear Carl Icahn took the lead in selling part of his NFLX stake, everyone's been abuzz with this being the potential market top.  Couldn't they have said it 6 months ago when I started becoming a semi-bear?

Finally, we closed the day with DJIA in the green and DJT deeply in the red.

My scheduled meeting yesterday was a bit of a disaster as I found myself battling foot in mouth disease.  Unexpectedly, I ended up meeting with the guy's competitor.  I've done my fair share of cold calling back in the day, but I took it up a notch by just popping into this guy's office and introducing myself.  Talk about thick skin!  But if you don't have thick skin, you can't survive in this economy.

After telling it like it is with two junior level sales guys, the boss stepped in and almost immediately, I saw that he saw what I saw.  Thank God!

So far, two guys have told me that they want to be exclusive, but I've still got my sights set on an open outcry financial scenario that will turn everyone's destinies around for the better.  And I've got to follow up with my ex-boss - something I've been procrastinating.

It's time to put my trading ego aside.  Besides, I want to find out if there's a lack of business confidence because of the government shutdown - or is there a lack of business confidence in me?

From the hour that 9FM recently spent speaking with me and the half hour the guy from yesterday spent to understand my project, I think I'm going to hit some hidden treasure very soon.

Earnings announcement in the Extended Hours session.

A tonne of volume going into issues expiring this week that are near these strikes...

I'm going one week out in case those issues get sold in favour of the issues expiring next week.

With most stocks, it was prudent to hold off for financial plaisir following earnings announcement, but in the heat of the moment, I got into these TSLA strangles as I have to hop out for a meeting...

So, let's see!

Maria, My Money Is Inside The Wallets of All the Market Makers...

At least a lot of it.

With the Diwali celebrations well underway in India, 9FM is visiting his home state of Gujarat, where some of the SENSEXiest men of India are from, including the Ambanis and the Tatas.  Don't tell him, but 9FM kind of looks like a younger version of Anil Ambani.  With 9FM on holiday, I'm going to be pounding the pavement all over New York City over the next few days.

I'm still waiting on 9FM's pending clients and one of my major concerns is whether he has actually already started selling to these clients without my knowledge.  Not that I don't trust him, but before sending him some more clients, I'm going to wait and see what happens with the two I sent him already.

In the interim, disaster continues here at ForexDiva's portfolio...  With the duds I have in my SBA, it is basically done if I don't top it up some more.

Rather than hiding behind the veil of stupidity / ignorance, I'm not going to repeat the mistakes I made in forex trading with options trading.  Already, I'm pretty close to repeating history and the one thing I can control is myself.

I've decided I want to focus on earnings announcements and technical setups, so I'm going to stick with it, risking small amounts until I can get it right once and for all.

With equities, you can be wrong for over 2 years as I was with my Japanese bank stocks and then start snowballing gains like crazy.  But with options, timing is critical and there are bigger, scarier sharks lurking in the murkiest of murky waters.

Not much of The Coral is left...

LEAPs = Weeps

A tonne of books on options trading advise newbies to get into LEAPs, which is what I did at the height of the market in May 2013.  To add insult to injury, I got into the sectors that people didn't rotate into.

One by one, I've seen these LEAPs turn into weeps for me.  If I had just stuck with buying SPY puts or picking up cheapos on momo stocks, I might even be doing better today.

Oh, Lord Almighty, I have really, really sinned...

If I can master one thing in trading, it would be to play earnings announcement accurately, profitably, and consistently with options.  I like the fast paced results and adrenaline rush.  It's virtually guaranteed volatility and this is what I need to make money with the strategies I've become accustomed to.  I definitely learned from my sins on AAPL earnings announcement and applied it to my recent FB trades.  I didn't time everything perfectly, but I'm getting a better feel for when there are Naked Call Sellers hiding underneath the covers.  Ooooh, I like those naked market making guys!

I better get this right soon as things are getting tight...

Ever since the government shutdown, I've noticed a dip in business sentiment.  Whilst things were already not easy within my industry, things suddenly feel a lot worse.  I have a sinking feeling that this time, my quote unquote luck might not be there for me to fall back on, so I'm doing all I can to create my own luck.  One guy who told me he wanted to participate in one of my projects suddenly got cold feet, so I'm going to have to pound the pavement again next week in search for a braver soul.

And oh do I want to put my head on his strong financial shoulders...

Dan and Mike - we've got a date tonight on OptionsAction!  Stick BK and his dark framed glasses on that show once in a while...
