Deal In the Headlights...
This is scarier than that Bollywood movie Raaz 3. Congress is still frozen and though I'm positioned for the worst case scenario, I'm feeling increasingly jittery as a speeding bullet train seems to be inching ever closer and we seem to be stuck in the tracks.
These are the times when, if you've buried gold in the backyard, you would be feeling a lot safer.
My equity and cash went up significantly today due to a turnaround in TVIX and VXX. I cashed out on part of my VIX plays and pushed some calls to the December expiry date. If we get a deal, my November VXX might get sold, but then I'd be left with some December ones. If we don't get a deal, I'd have November and December VXX calls to ride.
It's difficult enough as it is hitting 20 on the VIX, but I'm thinking if the unthinkable happens, we could see the VIX back at 60 again at the minimum.
In the interim, more murmurs that a deal is on the horizon with CNN reporting that a House Vote may occur tonight.
