Nobody Seems To Think That This Could Be A Buy the Rumour, Sell the News Type of Thing...
Even after an unprecedented JPM loss and signs of mortgage origination weakness at WFC, the Market Makers continued to charge through my portfolio like bulls through a china shop and I'm still in the midst of picking up the broken pieces.
In the interim, people are already talking about hitting new all time highs on CNBC. I'm left fuming in disbelief, but the FT puts it best: "Markets Dance To the Tune of Easy Money."
After my puts got sold all day, I realised I still haven't learned much after so many months of options trading. I'm still using the same strategy to trade all market conditions, so I'm going to brush up on some more options trading info over the weekend. There must be a way for me to consistently make money whilst avoiding the duds like today's WFC trade.
In hindsight, if I had folded my arms and stopped trading after scoring those miraculous VIX and VXX wins earlier in the week, I would be much better off than making more bearish bets after taking the cake.
I'm glad I was able to raise some cash this week, but my equity and confidence are both seeing a massive skinny dip in cold, cold waters.
